Well, I thought yesterday's class was one of those classes that potentially, could have been a disaster with a capital D. In a Sunday School class where the emphasis is learning about God's Word, discussing political issues is not a wise idea. It was obvious that there was a difference of opinion regarding the national health care issue. I don't like mixing politics with our Sunday School lesson. Why? With the national health care issue, it is a very emotional subject. There were NO Biblical references others or I could cite using Biblical principles to help us make a decision (Meaning, I was not prepared to do that). None of us (including me) are experts in this issue and it was getting rather heated and tense.
However, as Christians, I believe we need to discuss these issues and see how God's principles can be used to help us make a decision one way or the other. We were not there to do that yesterday. So, after a few minutes of discussion (which I regrettably allowed, so, it is my fault) it was apparent that we needed to get back on task (famous word used in education). So, if anyone was upset with what I said or what someone said, please call me at 423-7938 or email me at billybil@phonewave.net so we can talk.
John
